The best bathroom accessories to easily transform your space

As an interior designer in New Zealand, I've seen firsthand the transformative power of bathroom accessories. A complete bathroom redesign can be costly and time-consuming. Using trending bathroom accessories can give your bathroom a fresh, modern look without breaking the bank. Bathroom accessories could include towels racks, shower shelfs, toilet paper holders, soap dishes, hands towel rails and more! Here are some easy-to-implement tips and must-have accessories to refresh your bathroom:

Create a Visual Impact

Firstly, choosing the colour scheme for your accessories is key to evoking the feeling you want your bathroom to have. A form of colour consistency across your accessories will help your finished look appear more polished.

For those looking to create a statement in your bathroom, choose high contrast colours. Pair brass accessories with black, or copper accessories with green tiles for a bold and dramatic look.

If your are wanting to create a sense of calm, opt for harmonious colours. For a calming effect, combine warm whites and pastels with brass, or soft blues with chrome.

Embrace Natural Materials

Organic inspired aesthetic is currently trending. Natural textures and materials styled in your bathroom will work to modernise and soften your space. Consider exploring the following;

  • Wicker, cane baskets, and bamboo shelving: These elements add warmth and texture to your space. Use them to store towels, toiletries, or plants.

Kmart bathroom accessories and baskets are both affordable and effective!

  • Rattan light shades and framed mirrors: These can create a boho-chic atmosphere and complement natural materials. if you are looking for small or dark bathroom accessories, adding light is a great place to start!

  • Wooden shelving: This is a versatile option that can be used to display plants, toiletries, or decorative items.

Towel Storage

  • Robe hooks: These are a great way to hang towels and robes without taking up valuable space. The Code versa hooks are a popular option fir those who can't drill into the wall. You can also DIY your own towel hooks by simply drilling a few onto a wooden panel to hang, or onto the wall.

  • Towel Racks: There are so many affordable and towel storage option available. This Kmart bathroom accessory rack is a great towel storage option.

Soap storage

So many of us overlook the options available to store your soap on your vanity. From terrazzo to travertine, there are plenty of amazing soap dishes out there.
